Halwat Tabaa

Ingredients:


- 3 large eggs

- 105 ml light olive oil

- 210 g sugar

- 1 lemon, zested

- 1 ½ vanilla extract

- 500 g plain flour

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 pinch of salt

- 1 egg beaten for glazing


Method:


1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

2. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside.

3. In another mixing bowl, beat together eggs and sugar till thick and pale in colour.

4. Gradually add oil while beating. Add the lemon zest and vanilla extract.

5. Pour in flour mixture and mix using a spatula. You can use your hands to incorporate better.

6. Prepare a bowl of water. Wet your hands. Scoop a tablespoon of mixture onto your hand. Then lightly knead the mixture to form rings.

7. Place on prepared baking tray.

8. Brush the beaten egg on top of each biscuit.

9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. 10. Allow to cool. Enjoy!!
